Spice up your breakfast with this Crispy Cajun Smashed Potato recipe! With two Forty Six North Cajun seasonings to choose from, you can add as much or as little heat to the potatoes as you can handle!

 

Crispy Cajun Smashed Potatoes

ACTIVE 10 MIN; TOTAL 70 MIN; SERVES 2

Ingredients:
1.2 lb (500g) baby potatoes, washed
3 Tbsp (50g) butter
1 Tbsp olive oil
1 Tbsp Forty Six North Cajun Seasoning – Baby’s First or Slap Yo Momma Hot
Coarse salt, to taste

Method:

1.Preheat oven to 350F.

2. Boil the potatoes in salted water until soft, approximately 20 min. (The skin may split.) Drain the potatoes and let cool for a good 5 minutes.

3. Place the potatoes in a well seasoned cast iron pan (9 inch) and gently press with a fork or a potato masher – keeping them in one piece. Leave to sit for another 5 minutes, they will continue to dry and this makes them crispier!

4. Melt the butter in microwave for 15-20 sec. Stir in the oil and Cajun seasoning. Brush over the potatoes in the pan until all of the mixture is used. Sprinkle with a little salt.

5. Bake for 30-40 minutes or until deep golden and crispy. Do not flip!

6. Serve hot with breakfast (or dinner)! Enjoy.
