There is no good reason to be scared of using spices but there are a few tricks and recipes to make sure you get the best flavour possible!

Measure your spices out before using them and don’t be too light handed. Think about starting with, and building, flavour. Don’t just sprinkle your spices over a cooking dish and hope for the best…

If kept properly- stored in a dark, dry and cool space- you can expect your spices to keep fresh for up to a year. Past that, they will lose a lot of their flavour. Cook with them while you have them and toss those past the expiry date- we’re here and happy to fill your spice stock back up again if you run out!
